Ruby is an abused child who has come to be in a place where she has a support network and self-reliance. She will act as such. While she was not being actively groomed (there was no getting her used to sexual topics, or interacting with her in sexual ways) she did spend several years being told that when she was of age she would be married to the leader of the cult she was raised in. She may reference this. It will not be tagged as grooming as there were no sexual interactions.
With all that said, Ruby's posts are primarily intended to be about her day to day life. These topics shouldn't come up TOO often, but she absolutely will speak on them if they come up in conversation.
Ruby currently works for Professor Michi Spruce of Unova as a research aid. She helps by going into the wilds and researching the way pokemon act within their habitats, occasionally capturing pokemon to live in the lab's biodomes. She makes good use of her psychic connection to animals in order to communicate with pokemon.
Ruby lives at the lab, not far from Floccesy Ranch. She has the following Pokemon:
Shouki the Gastly - her starter, given to her by Professor Spruce.
Hiinu the Growlithe - the first pokemon she captured. Was found in the Virbank Compound.
Koma the Riolu - A riolu she rescued from much higher level pokemon deep, deep in the forests.
Ruby was born on the second day of the second month as Haru Nakamura. Her father, Sho Nakamura, had her kidnapped so that he could raise her in secret away from her mother's influence. Sho Nakamura was the leader of a terrorist organization operating as a criminal enterprise. Its goal was to take over Laios' government and come into control over the land that had refused to let them go home after crash landing on the island a generation ago.
Ruby was raised in a series of safe houses, rarely seeing her father as he put on a front as a well-liked business man during the day and a criminal mastermind by night. She was raised mostly by his right-hand man, and a series of other trusted members of the organisation. As her red hair was distinctive, she was never allowed to go outside during the day for fear she would be tracked down and returned to her mother.
During this time her day to day life was mostly schooling and tales of her father's homeland, with very little down time.
When Ruby was barely 8 years old, her safehouse was raided by the members of The Forge, a terrorist cult which saw her father's enterprise as a rival to their own goals. She was taken prisoner, and due to some quick thinking she managed to convince the leader (Korei Gewählt) that she would be more use to him alive than dead. Thus began her time in The Forge.
For almost seven years Ruby made herself a valuable member of The Forge. The leadership skills she had been taught meant that she quickly rose the ranks, becoming one Korei's favourites - a status that was as much a curse as it was a blessing, the man deciding that once she was of age he would marry her as he had so many other women.
Ruby's time in The Forge was marked by poor nutrition, a 'medical provider' who was more torturer than healer, and great violence enacted both on and by her. Near the end of her time on that world, Korei had finally found what he sought, a lost temple to the god of Cycles - Kairos. In order to free him from his bindings, Korei needed 'The blood of an enemy, freely given' and had Ruby give her blood to the altar - her father's blood ran through her after all. The bound god took pity on her and sent her to another world so that she might escape her circumstances.
This new world had long since been abandoned by sapient life, though temples and long-abandoned stone cities remained. Fighting an infection from the wound made to let blood, Ruby travelled this world until she found a place she could hole up in. Thanks to the aid of this world's animals she survived long enough to be found by a multiverse traveller who saw her to a safe location where she could be treated, then sent to a long-term safe place where she could live a happy life. That place turned out to be the Pokemon World.
When told she needed a new name in The Forge, Ruby chose the name "Ruby" because she thinks rubies are pretty.
Ruby was born with animal telepathy. This ability came from a deal her father made with a god to bless his legacy. She is also pyrokenetic and immune to fire (but not smoke) due to another god wanting to give her a way to protect herself. She has, somehow, failed to realise her abilities with fire, and I think it's funnier that way.
Ruby's favourite animal to commune with is dogs. Ruby has pretty bad anhedonia for a child, but the sheer level of happiness typical of dogs means that even she can feel resplendent joy.
Ruby does not know her mother in any capacity. Ruby's mother was a Laios native. Ruby also has an older sister, who she is mostly unaware of.
Ruby was born on the island of Laios in an original world where gods used to be commonplace. Laios is an island protected from outside meddling by a barrier that hides it from the outside world. Her father came on a merchant ship that became shipwrecked due to a storm. He originated from a place called the Phoenix Isles, which speaks what our world knows as Japanese. Ruby grew up on stories of the Phoenix Isles and had approximately 8 years to learn the language as a child, as well as Llymellian Common (what we know as English). Which is to say: Her Japanese is not great.
The version of Llymellian Common that Ruby learned uses non-current characters such as þorns (thorns) and ȝoghs (yoghs), but with modern grammar conventions in most other areas. This results in all of Ruby's online communications being done by voice, though she can read proper modern english fairly competently.
